Yankees Stay Alive

After losing Roger Clemens because of a hamstring injury and falling behind 3-0, Johnny Damon and the Yankees bats came alive to help the Yankees win 8-4. After Clemens left in the 3rd inning, Phil Hughes came in and shut down the Tribe for his 3.2 innings. He gave up only 2 hits and had 4 strikeouts. Joba Chamberlain came in after Hughes and pitched 2 innings and Mariano Rivera finished the game with a perfect 9th. The Yankees took the lead for good in the 5th inning behind a 3 run homerun by Johnny Damon, who was 3-4 with 4 RBIs.

Tonight the Yankees send Chien-Ming Wang to the mound to try and send the series back to Cleveland. The Indians will counter with Paul Byrd.

Go Yankees!!

More Minor League Reports coming after the Yankees season is complete.
