Former Yankee prospect Dioneer Navarro (traded as part of the Randy Johnson deal) just hit a walk-off homer off of Jeff Karstens in the bottom of the 10th inning to beat the Yankees 7-6. Combined with a Red Sox win, this loss pushes the Yankees another game out from the Boston Red Sox in the AL East.
I am extremely disappointed in the loss tonight. Igawa didn't give up any runs and only two hits; A-Rod gave him some support with a grand slam and the bullpen can't hold it. This is not the way the Yankees need to play in the last week of the season.
Some good in tonights loss: Damon was 5-5; this is good because the Yankees have to have him hot during this last week and in the playoffs. Cano remains on fire with a 3-5 performance tonight.
